Every harbor along the coast of Maine is full of these little lobster boats. For generations this business, commercial or personal, has been a thriving industry in Maine. In fact it is one of the oldest industries operating in the US with the first documented catch being in the 1600's. To this day Maine Lobsters are 100% hand-harvested from small day boats like this one. This ensures the protection of their quality and the marine life in the area. I loved seeing them head out and return from a successful day of fishing. There is something special about the fresh cought lobster, its sweet and delicious. Not only did I have my first lobster roll, but some of the best clam chowder I've ever had. From the food to the culture, Maine is by far one of my favorite places we have visited.
