The Nauset Lighthouse is the most reconizable and photographed lighthouse in Cape Cod. Most of us know it from Cape Cod Kettle Chips, where it has long adorned their iconic bag. But it's history is quite long, being built in 1877 in Chatham, moved in 1923 to Eastham, and then again in 1996 from the ever eroding costline. It's predicted it will need to be moved again in 30 years. The marine layer was thick and moving quickly across the landscape that day, it was absolutly beautiful. The bright red and white paint stands strongly against the backdrop of soft gray. The two rotating beacons creating a wonderful focal point and reminding us why these lighthouses are so nessassary.
