Formed by a massive glacire in the last ice age, Jordan Pond is a breathtaking sight full of geological features.  It's a very popular spot due to the beautiful hiking trails, kanooing, and The Jordan Pond House that has been serving tea and snacks since the 19th century. But the crystal clear water is one of the main attractions, with visibilty recorded at over 60ft. Even with the cloud cover you can see the long nestled rocks along the shoreline. The clouds hung so low that day it felt like you could reach out and touch them. I love the muted colors of fall they created among the trees, the sky peaking through just enough to highlight the soft ripples on the waters surface. Its definetly a must when visiting Acadia.
